beginners guide to spotify music piracy (wip)
requirements
- any email service, preferably onmail or protonmail, as long as it isnt temporary
- any vpn service, preferably windscribe or protonvpn
- audacity (or any other music editor)
setup
just use any email acc. i use protonmail for my shit (if it asks you to verify w email when creating a protonmail acc: disable all vpns, open a private tab, and make ur acc there)
ENABLE A VPN. most important step if u dont want to get ur ip banned. jumpstr bites.
noise/audacity
download the song u want to reupload and open it on audacity/other daw. change the pitch of the audio, change the speed, add an intro and outro over 2 seconds, preferably with noise. brown noise works. it will make it safer. if its a remix, add louder noise at parts where it becomes more silent/less altered and make it more silent when its more loud/remixed. i prefer to add a soft brown noise over the whole track.
once u get to the part where u export, strip the audio of any metadata, especially name and artist. u could try to fake ur daw in it. if you want to get accepted, do not set the file name to something like "[songname] sped up" or "youtube_xxxxxxxxx_[songname]". i usually set it to "[songname]_FINAL" or something like that.
distro/jumpstr
make an account on any distro (i recommend jumpstr and sugo nvm sugo is ass js use jumpstr.) and start uploading ur songs. i do not recommend uploading straight up copyrighted music. for jumpstr, i use this template:
cover art = a cat or a loona member. no text and ~3000 pixels (u can do 1000 for jumpstr)
name = something like the original but not exactly similar (ex.: o-light -> howlight (stream howl by chuu))
UPDATE: ADDING AN EXCLAMATION MARK MIGHT BYPASS ANY CHECKS
label = something that ends in "records" or "recordings" or "recording group" (ex.: [name] & [label])
genre = folk for classcal/soft, dance for remixes, alternative for anything else (or electronic)
language = english
explicit = no
platforms = spotify and apple music
version = standard (unless the quality is ass, then add "remix")
composition = original
writer = anything, might be better to make it believable
!! ADD ANY ISRCS OR LICENSES IF U HAVE ANY !! (and if ur distro allows u to use them)
!! READ THE GUIDELINES FOR YOUR DISTRIBUTOR !!
afaik if u try uploading on multiple distros worst case scenario it gets rejected but its rare. if u use jumpstr expect regular takedowns. if one song got rejected but ur acc hasnt been wiped tthen just switch accounts. dont even switch ips. for email verification, dont use a temp email. to bypass the bank verification, set ur bank to something like "BY012345678" ("XX000000000", in total 11 characters). jumpstr bans by ip, account, and sometimes by artist name. if nothing is working, change the artist.
claiming
either try to make an insta/twt acc with things like "[song] coming soon" or contact spotify support and hope that they give you your artist account.
